See Attached. A motion was made by Alan Budkofsky and second by Karen Handville to accept the June – August Treasurer’s report subject to audit. Motion passed.
Town Reports:
Bloomfield:
The station is moving into the middle school. Making arrangements to have Comcast bring in the cables. Matt has been extremely helpful to the station.
Apparently there was a box at the old station that the cables came in through that was demo’d and disposed of along with the old building. Matt was able to locate a used one for them.
There will be 2 studios and they are trying to work on something for the children.
East Hartford:
Might have a new volunteer finally. Cleared up the problem with the sound at the Board of Ed meetings. Sound is back.
Did not do a lot of the summer activities due to weather and lack of volunteers.
Dick suggested they also try to get volunteers from the schools. Problem has been the time the students need to leave and the time the meetings end. Most need to leave before the meetings are over.
Hartford:
No one in attendance to provide an update.
Simsbury:
Karen advised the second set of robotic cameras will be installed in the library next month. In the process of recording meet the candidates who have signed up for a two (2) minute video.
In the process of hiring an employee. Operations assistant that has been there for 5 years left for a full time job. They have made an offer to someone and are waiting to hear their answer.
West Hartford:
No one able to attend. Jen was also not able to attend.
Windsor:
Next Tuesday will be the first board meeting. Charles will now be on the Board. Windsor is having a chili challenge. Might be a way to get the word out for what HACTAC is all about.
Dave reported that the station has not had meetings for the summer. The station has been busy recording summer concerts and with the kid vid program.
COMCAST:
Nothing to report. No one in attendance.
NOTE:All complete reports appear in the DPUC reports available on-line from the DPUC. See below for e-mail address.
Committee Reports:
Frontier/State Advisory Council, (Video Advisory Council):
Alan reported they had a meeting last month. One of the hot topics was the FCC ruling for in kind services to the Towns. Still working on final details.
What happened in the past was that people would have their own little studio and put in a request for money from the PegPetia grant and get the money.
Brenda showed a letter that was received at the East Hartford station regarding the FCC ruling. A copy of the letter is attached to these minutes.
Legislative Committee Report:
Nothing to report.
Public Relations Committee Report:
Nothing to report.
Nominating Committee:
Nothing to report.
Chairman’s Report: Most memos concerning the DPUC are available on the web-site for the DPUC (www.state.ct.us/dpuc/database/htm)
See Attached.
HACTAC e-mail address: hactac.org
Complaints:
No official written complaints.
Old Business:
New Business:
Dick wanted to discuss HACTAC. Do we need to put some rules together such as, what is HACTAC here for, what can they do under their rules, how can it help the stations, what kind of help can it offer the stations.
Karen thought that the legislative items would be a good place for HACTAC to start. Right now Jen from West Hartford does spend a lot of time doing it and many of the stations depend on her to keep them updated.
Alan and Brenda felt the same.
